Cubase group channel help please

OK so i am trying to group 2 different channels into a group channel in cubase 5.1. One channel is a instrument channel which will allow me to route the input to the group channel on the input routing section above the track. The other track is a midi track assigned to channel 1 of the kontakt5 VST. When i select output routing it does not give me the ability to route to group channel?

Please help thanks guys.

Foolproof way to do this:

Solo the midi part so you can only hear the vst.. Play that in a loop

hit f3 to show mixer

Hide all appart from vst channels

You will see the vst output on one of the channel's meters

That's the channel, go in there and change output to your group

That's because you are selecting the midi track. You need to select the actual KONTAKT (VST instrument) track. You can't route pure midi to an audio output because it's not an audio channel. Find the Kontakt instrument and expand it's folder if you need to, find the correct channel then set it's output to the group channel.

I also think you meant "route the output" to the group channel (not input) in relation to the track you successfully routed?

edit > beaten to it by one minute.

BHAHAHA omg it was so simple but my mind is so blocked from thinking about all this other stuff. I had to go to the vst channel assigned to the midi channel and then set to group channel lol.

Thanks Golden beers
