SSL Duende native alternative?

What in your opinion would be the best alternative to ssl duende native, specifially for compression, eq, limiter. Also looking for a good bass plugin like maxxbass from waves which is quite an old plugin now so i imagine there may be better available.

In regard to duende, there appears to be an issue with the licence activation - you need the latest version of java installed which is 7. This i find somewhat farcical, at the moment there is no option to upgrade to 7 on osx 10.6 and we do not want nor have the time to upgrade osx.

Any information appreciated

Hey, PC user here so can't be sure sorry but check out the FAQ at SSL if you haven't done so already . "Duende Native Activation on Mac OS" thread sounds like this should do it:

Mac OS Snow Leopard (10.6.8) and below:

•If you are running Mac OS 10.6.8 or BELOW then you should update to the latest version of Java 6 using Mac OS software update
•Download, install and use Google Chrome for activation in the SSL License Centre. If you are already using this browser please RESTART it after installing Java.
•If a pop up box opens you should click Trust/Allow.
•If you see a small line of text saying Missing Plug-in then Java is not correctly installed. Please check the information above again ensuring you restart your browser.
Java configuration (currently required on Snow Leopard, Lion and Mountain Lion):

You should also run the Java Preferences utility (located in Applications > utilities) and tick the box to "allow plug-in applet and WebStart applications". After this the browser will need to be closed completely (quit the application so that all windows are closed) and restarted.

The Glue is a great SSL like compressor
PSP Xenon is a great limiter
DDMF EQs are good and not expensive
Best analog sounding eqs are all in Nebula

SSL Duende garbage

Have to say I have written off my Duende native plugs in disgust.

I had so many issues with their security system, I decided the quality of the plugins was great but I was spending all my time fixing stuff that should not be broke rather than making music.

Their helpdesk was about as much use as a chocolate fireguard.

Shame, as I liked the plugs
Oh, and dont get the idea that all this can be fixed by buying the actual CMStick, you still have to use the same flaky software to access THAT, too.,
