Pulling up Pro Tools dual mono (stereo...) in Cubase SX 3 - make them stereo?

Hi all,

On a session - I am trying to import a bunch of start at zero audio files from a Pro Tools session in Cubase SX3 - how to I make the stereo ones (with the L and R suffix) come up as a stereo channel in SX 3????

Seems simple but I can't work it out - they always come up as two seperate mono channels in the mix/edit windows, which is a pain.

Cheers,
Paul

I understnad, PT always splits a stereo track into two mono. when importing this into another PT session it will drag them as one stereo onto the stereo track, does this not happen in Cubase? try two mono tracks panned L+R (i know, this takes up more CPU). Or bounce down the track on PT making sure its stereo interleaved?

Hope this helps

Thank you for your help.

Yeah, I know Pro Tools imports them with no problem, but Cubase seems to insist they are two seperate issues.

I'll try exporting from Pro Tools again, interleaved will work. It's just unfortunate that it will take so long (13 songs for this session... erk!)

Cant u just batch convert the files? Would be quicker than rebouncing/exporting the tracks in PT.

Im a PT user and its always bugged me that they use this dual mono approach.

No one else does. Its no biggie if you work soley in PT, but once you start interfacing with other apps, or just transferring one part to another device, its a PITA. :(

But yeah, batch convert in sum freebie app would be the quickest me thinks. :)
