Thread Starter | Logic Pro 7.2 audio problem (on a Macbook)
Well here goes. I just updated my Logic 6 and bought the 7.2 from the Apple store. Loaded it. When I start up Logic, it says "Project Manager Database on Disk has got (the) wrong version. Rescanning required." Anyone know what this means? Then is says "The previously selected audio interface is not available." I don't understand if it's telling me the interface selected for my old Logic 6 (which is Motu 828) is not recognized or what. I'm still using the 828. Thirdly, I was just trying to mess around and check out Logic 7's interface, and I noticed I couldn't select the record button for More than 1 audio track. I could select all 8 audio tracks on Logic 6, but not here. I gotta check out the manual and see if I can find out what's going on. Anyone have any input? Nick |

did u say u got the new intel based macs laptops? it sounds like u need to update the motu 828 driver. logic 7.x will only let u select as many inputs u have on your system and if its not letting u choose more than one then it means that the audio interface you are on is the macs coreaudio which is one in and one out. try downlaoding the llatest driver form motu.com. also do a software update o the mac (under the little apple upper left corner) and itll check if u need a logic update. did u import the autoload or system prefs from your previous setup? if u did a system tranfer from your old computer to the new one then you will have the enviroenment of the old one each time u open logic. so if you had the motu 828 as the main interface then itll look for that interface, not only phisically but also driver wise. so i think itll be a good idea to trash the autoload and prefs and start logics environment from scratch. | |

Then remove your old Autoload template, and make a new one from scratch. Use the Startup Assistant (from the Logic menu) and be sure to have your sound card up to date and plugged in, and just follow the instructions. As for the PM Database, I would recommend completely removing the old database, and do a full rescan.

Alright, I got everything to work, but I have two ?s about your guy's suggestions. I did do a System trasfer of all my files off my old Powerbook to my new Macbook. Everything worked good. First off though, I downloaded the driver 1.4.1 universal and the 828 was recognized. And I changed the ins and outs on Logics interface so they're routed correct. Then I performed a Rescan (although it didn't allow me to save the scan like the manual suggests). 1. Anyways, my ?: is it not good to have the old Logic 6 Environment transferred to 7.2.1 (which I'm now running)? Does the environment window look different or is there a software issue? 2. Do you guys think I should still trash and make a new Autoload Template? Everything seems to be working good, but if a Autoload is a good idea to get a fresh start then it sounds good to me. I did use Logic's Setup assistant also, but I didn't really notice much change in the way I had things set up before. (I might have selected the same specs as I did before though) Just a side note, the manual said the full rescan of everything on my laptop would take a really long time. Holy Crap, but on my Macbook it took literally like 5 minutes. That smokes thumbsup |
