SSL DUENDE EQ VS. WAVES SSL EQ...

Hello to everyone...I am interested in possibly purchashing one of these but have not really heard much about the differences in EQ...

Either the 2 SSL emulations or between the URS stuff...

I hear they are all nice but some more details would help me in my decision...

Any help would be greatly appreciated...Thanks

hey man,

while i can't comment on duende or the URS plugs I have done a/b tests with the Waves SSL and an actual SL4000 console. The general concensus from most a/b test i've heard of are that 50% of people can tell the difference. I sure as hell can't. Having used the Waves SSL plugs I can tell you they make all the difference in the world. They sound great, a good buy, especially in the native format.

i'm with you though, i'd love to hear some reviews etc about duende. it would be great if it sounded just like the waves plugs but with no cpu overhead, killer.

hope that helps a little bit,

How big of a hit do you get on your cpu when using the SSL channel strip? I have been debating channel strips for a couple of months now and at the moment I am digging the VBaudio one the best.

I get very quick results from it and it has some great visual features, eg. meter bridge showing compression for every channel that you have the plugin on. Very nice stuff. But the hole SSL sales pitch has me. Also I want that master limiter. Hmmmm

Take a look around this forum - this exact topic has already been covered.

My Duende is expected to arrive tomorrow. I'll post my opinions soon after.
