| Who uses BIAS Peak Pro or Peak Pro XT?? Hi guys. I am a Pro Tools LE user and recently I am feeling the need to get another program specifically for wave editing and mastering (a stereo DAW). I have heard good things about Peak Pro. I have also heard good things about the BIAS Master Perfection Suite, which is included in the Pro XT version (they are even throwing in the "export to DDP" function currently @ Sweetwater). Can you guys tell me what you think about this program and how you use it? Also, if you prefer another wave editor, please mention it and say why you use it/like it. I am on a Macintosh so Sound Forge is not an option although I am aware that many people love that program. Any wave editors that are Macintosh compatible I would like to hear about, including DSP-Quattro and any others. Thanks a mil, J.D.

| I use Peak Pro for audio editing and in-house half-assed mastering (with UAD Precision plugs mostly) and I like it. Easy to grapple UI and highly functional. I've demoed DSP-Quattro and thought it was full-featured, especially for its comparably low price. I ended up sticking with the Bias line because I already had a lite version of Peak, was comfortable with it and wanted pow-R dithering capability (at the time, I didn't know what sort of dithering Quattro offered). |

| I'm on the Metric Halo mailing list. There's a user there who is a big name mastering guy who uses Peak. There was a minor off topic debate on mastering applications. The usual names came up (Sonic Studio, Samplitude). In this guy's opinion he liked how Peak worked and preferred it's dithering to the others.

| I use it. Love it. Like the region playlist feature although that feature surely exists on other editors by now. If you are on a mac what else is there ? |

| i use peak pro 5 but its still not the "best" cuz i cant go all in one .. i have to use two apps at once. so, what i do is, in logic, do my thing, then playback, and capture in peak. then assign the markers there, and covert those to the 'playlist' and dither upon burning and after fades. i need to be able to route out to my outboard like i can in logic, then i'd be lovin peak 100% |

| despite its bugginess, i've been using waveburner which comes bundled with logic but gets no mention anywhere in the package materials. the update in logic 7.2 (waveburner 1.2) is far more stable than the earlier version, but it's still sort of an odd bird to navigate. |

| gotta vote for peak I've been using Peak for about a year now and i love it. Like everyone else has said, it has a great UI and is easy to use. I use it for doing a little pre-mastering before sending clients a mix for approval. It's great becuase I can use all my plugs (except rtas), the editing is top notch and the vbox is awesome for doing multi-effects. i have also used peak for basic stuff like chopping up drum samples for drumagog and doing very precise edits. You can't go wrong with peak. AudioAlchemy |
