Windows Media Player issue

Hey everyone,

For some reason, I cannot get any version of windows media player to play a cd without stopping every second...it won't sync correctly to either my M-Audio 2496 card, or my Firepod. This only happens on my 2nd hard drive. WMP just won't cooperate! Anyone have some insight as to what causes this? I figured updating the version would fix the issue, but apparently not.

Thanks,

-Dan

Make sure the drive in question is running in DMA mode and NOT PIO mode. You can check by:

-Right-click my computer,
-Click "Hardware"
-Click "Device Manager"
-DBL Click on "IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers"
-Right-click the drive in question and select "properties"
-Click on "Advanced"

if that is the problem, i've attached a handy little file that will reset all drives to DMA.

thank god you're not trying to mix with WMP. Seriously , when I saw the thread's title ... ... little flashback.

While ago I gave a dvd full of consolidated PT tracks to a guy who wanted to give mixing a shot at home.

Day after I gave him the dvd he calls me and says there's a problem and that he can't figure out how to use those files to 'mix them together'.

I ask him what soft he was using and you allready guessed the answer right ....
