(It seems that this is vaporware that circulated as real. I apologize for not researching it further before posting) |

MFL in standard Live would have been the biggest Live 9 announcement, imho.

No, but I am glad I bought it now. I mainly use Zebra2, but Sampler is nice and Operator can be useful as well.

I'm a HUGE Live fan, it's my preferred DAW when not doing traditional, linear recording (use Logic for that, Live sometimes). However, I thought I needed to keep scrolling down the 'feature' page, felt for sure I was missing something. For a major upgrade, it doesn't seem too major. Nice MIDI features, some new plug-in toys, looks like more sampled sounds in the library - I don't use libraries though. Recording automation into clips and the audio to MIDI tools is probably the most useful for me. MAX looks intriguing. We all have our own wishlists for upgrades. I was hoping Live would join in the trend of making multi-take comping easier with a drop down menu a la Logic, maybe w/ some quick swiping? Actually, pretty surprised they didn't do that.

But it would be great | it's exactly the omission of such features that bring it down in that department. I hate having to record vocals and guitars in Logic, and then bring them back to ableton for further mucking around, but even without that, recording "live" instruments into live is a nightmare of latency.... really a shame, otherwise i would probably only use ableton.
and yeah, i too would like to know what max4live patch is being used to break out the screens please!

just looking for an opinion here, and my question will hsow you i dont knwo anything about LIVE
however
i use cubase 6.5 on a mac platform right now. i am looking into writing some more pop oriented stuff and industrial, kinda like NIN or Owl City etc. but keeping acoustic guitar/electric guitar audio/analog parts to
i rewire reason 6.5 now but it doesn't work so well at this point. is LIVE a better option for this kind of music? does it come with alot of loops/instruments/sounds? and is it easy to rewire to cubase?

thanks | Don't ever dream about rewire with cubase and live (slaved)...it's marketing blah....Experience done....hyper deceived. The ableton fx are even unable to output any audio in slave mode....I bought Live for nothing....I put several hundreds of euros into a pure lovely trash....You can imagine how happy i'm. And if someone tell me i'm dumb to have to do so....sorry but all rewire apps i know work welll with cubase....so I bought ableton pretty immediately when i heard it was x64 beta. But it simply doesn't work in slave mode....At least not like people think about it.....
Thank's Ableton!!! You make my day once again.
Amazingly....no one speaks about that or no a clue....nor customers and even nor Ableton (even when you write to them...they suddenly don't talk to you anymore...) Will ableton will be a TRUE rewire slave with fx?

Just commit to your sound and freeze and consolidate your tracks. You can always save a different session with a different name before you freeze so you can go back if you have too. But why not just go with it?
A pain? Yes. A deal breaker that makes Live useless? No.

Two things to add here: Restrictions in Rewire Slave mode are part of the Rewire standard. Other applications (like Reaper) simply choose to ignore that limitation.
And of course one could download a trial before shelving out the money for Live, especially if the Rewire functionality is not sure to work as intended before trying.

A pain? Yes. A deal breaker that makes Live useless? No. | Yes I admit it. I was a bit too hard with my words. It was a really frustrating day and i was in a high geekness frustration.
My apologies to ableton and for my bad mood.
Timur you'right dude.
I thank you all for having answered to all this negativity with cool words. (shame on me)
