Moving ilok between accounts

Hi
The studio were I work currently own 3 different iloks on 2 different accounts.
I need to transfer the physical ilok from one account to the account in which the other two are currently registered.
Any ideas?
The only solution I have been able to find at ilok is to transfer the licenses from one ilok account to the other and then buy a fourth ilok in which I could store this licenses and just trash the third one.

Has anybody done something like this before?

Difficult.

I THINK you could do it by buying a 4th iLok, syncing it to the existing account, transferring all licenses to it, then unregistering it - you can do this within 7 days of registering it I THINK.

Then - register it to the account you want it to live on - it will then permanently sync to this account (at least - unless it's empty).

This takes advantage of the fact that you can unsync a newly registered iLok, even if it has licenses on it, which you can't do with your existing ones, and should save you the transfer fees.

Don't take this as gospel - but I'm pretty sure it works. If I'm wrong, maybe someone can correct me!

You just transfer the license from the iLok account in question but... it also depends on the software vendor.
EastWest doesn't allow transfers of licenses to other accounts, that I know for sure.

Re-read my post. If you've got more than one plugin on the iLok, you really don't want to pay $25 for each license you own.

Transfer to another account is what you need to do to get it to another account and you're right, there is a $25 fee which would make sense since it's going to another account.

I understand that the owner of the two accounts is the same but iLok still sees it as two accounts.

Another route to go is just contact iLok and explain your situation and see if they'll transfer for free or a lessor amount than what they normally would charge. Doesn't hurt to ask.

Also remember, you still need to get software vendor approval as well.

I personally would just leave it in two accounts and just spread the software on more iLok devices.

In fact, if you ever wanted to sell your software the best way to do that is create an account for each software that you're going to purchase (future purchase that is). That way if you ever decide you want to sell your software, sell it with the iLok and iLok account for that single software.

Really no...you don't want a separate ilok for each piece of software, and my method combines the 2 accounts with no fees.

I'm logged into my iLok account so can you show me where you can transfer between 2 accounts for free.
I'll setup another iLok account and try it to verify this works but from what I'm reading on the iLok site, transfer between 2 accounts is $25.

I have personally have transferred between iLok devices on my one account. That's free for sure.

Re-read his method in post 2. It works. It's a loophole.
