I'm not taking such polls too seriously - eg. because we've seen that certain users recruit other users of their fav. DAW to come over and vote here on GS.

But DAW trends change, so why not have these polls now and then? OTOH, the listed options should in my opinion differentiate between Mac and PC users - and of course list all major DAWs, which this poll doesn't do.

I love fl studio because I've learned how to use it but I'm sure other DAW's are pretty awesome as well.

Ableton Live —*for being modular and easy on use/routing/control mapping, especially for live )

Reaper —*for being modular and easy on use/routing/control mapping, but for recording/mixing

Is this some kind of marketing questionnaire? There are more types of DAW used (by forum members) than the poll allows for...at least include a 'none of above' option.
Essentially the poll is flawed and prescriptive - it will give a false impression of DAW use.

My favorite DAW is the one that provided the export that caused the customer to write me a check that doesn't bounce. Some of these are on the poll, some aren't.

Love Logic, just recently tried pro tools in uni and I like it for different reasons.

I despise using Ableton for a DAW but I like it for making little mixes

After many years (about 25) of using mainly Logic on a Atari/Mac, I invested in a PC workstation and have drifted over to Cubase. Now I'm using Cubase 6 for tracking, editing and mixing audio, areas I personally feel Logic has fallen behind on compared to a modern coded DAW like Cubase 6.

Mind you if Logic X ever turns up and has a proper re-write then I may vote differently in a future poll.

Logic....I love its sound, the interface is great. you can also work with it without buying any plugins. Cubase for example sucks without 3rd partie plugins. The midi versatility is great to, in opposite to PT.

its just great

cheers

NONE of the above.

I've used Pro Tools (8 and 10), Logic, and Live, and my favorite by far is Digital Performer. Love the work flow, love the physical manual, loooove the windows, best support in the business.

And now that DP8 is cross platform, our PC friends can experience the awesomeness.

Your list is lacking, sir!

True but it still can't handle as many VI's in a song as some other DAWs.

I was a Sonar user for years, but was won over to Cubase around version 3.x because of its superior MIDI composition tools. I'm now running Cubase 6.5. I gave Sonar X2 a try for a week or so - really like the workflow - but, when it comes to MIDI nothing beats Cubase.

I personally love Sonar, been a user since version 6! Just got X2 a week ago and couldn't be more pleased. Skylight makes all of my workflows simple and productive. I've never used any other Daw so I don't know what's good and what isn't besides Sonar.

ProTools. It works for me. I prefer editing in it over any other DAW. I have been a user for over 10 years, and know the quick keys like mad, can problem solve, etc.. It's home, so I stick with it.

SONAR X2,

great window management, 64bit stable, Smart Tool, very good audio quantize with tap to transient, nice looking GUI, great overall workflow!

For me as a former Cubase user and still own 6.5, it feels so much faster..
