2012 Macbook Pro Retina and Hd Native Thunderbolt

Hello!

I am looking to purchase a new 2012 Retina Display 15" Macbook Pro Quadcore with an Intel i7 2.6 Ghz processor and 512 gb flash storage drive. My intentions are to set up a mobile rig using HD Native Thunderbolt.

Looking for positive feedback from producers and engineers who have this particular setup.

Are there any issues regarding compatibility of HD Native with the Macbook or extraneous user glitches that I am not aware of?

Any help would be righteously appreciated as I embark on my journey.

Thanks

Yo!

Not running HD native, but am running PT 10.2 Native with Lynx/HD/UAD Satelite all through an OWC Helios PCIe to Thunderbolt chassis all on a retina MBP. Two weeks in, all runs flawlessly. Hope that helps!

Love mine, but advise to go with 768 flash. I did, you'll be surprised how much you'll need that, and you cannot upgrade it from Apple later. But it's a great, extremely quiet computer with an incredible display. Best Mac I've ever owned.

Do you have a thunderbolt external drive for storage of protools wav files? Do you run virtual instruments from your system drive or would I be better off getting for instance a Lacie 1TB thunderbolt external drive? Or are there any other external drives that are more efficient?

I found the LaCie Thunderbolt to be way too noisy, had a high-pitched whine. Returned it immediately. Got 2 Seagate GoFlex 750 GB 7200 RPM 2.5 drives, each with it's own Thunderbolt caddy.
