Cheaper or free auto-tune plug ins?

I've found the Antares auto tune to be a usefull tool for myself... not so much to correct pitch but to let me see/hear where it's working and get myself to sing it correctly. However, I no longer have access and can not justify spending $300 dollars on this. Can anyone recommend something else that will serve my purpose?

If the only reason you want it is for practicing singing in tune, then maybe Vocal Lab will work for you. It's only $15. If you don't have a Mac, then just find some tuner plug-in. You'll be able to find a tuner for much cheaper than pitch-correction software.

Oh yeah, and of course this too:

Melodyne has a good interface for doing this and can be usfull to work out harmonies before you sing them much better than AT in that respect. as for actual pitch correction well that argument will go on forever.

I am not sure what you have a s a DAW, But I use Sonar 7 Producer Edition, and it has Roland V-Vocal which works in only POST PRODUCTION! It cannot be used as a real time processor effect. Ther are a few other things that have been mentioned, like the free link to G snap. It may not be the best tool on the market, but it souynds like it would work for you if you have little to no budget for pitch correction plug-in's.
