Can Someone recommend a good VST-RTAS wrapper?

Where can I get a good VST-RTAS wrapper? I looked at the FXpansion one at Sweetwater but there is a negative review mentioning that it didn't work too well...

Has anyone here got a good one that they can recommend and where to buy it?

Thanks a mill,
J.D.

Well....

From my knowledge or form what i know, OnLY FXpansion can do waht youre looking for.. so if there is only one or two, or three or 10 bad reviews out of 1000 other people that have been using it with no problem, so i think you should go for Fxpansion... simple !!!!

Good luck..

Any plugin written correctly to the VST spec will wrap successfully.

Usuaully any unsuccessful wraps or issues with GUI etc are down to the VST plugin itself no adhering 100% to the VST spec.

The wrapper doesnt add any latency and is minimal on CPU a fraction of a percent on modern machines.

The comment from the chap at sweetwater is a reflection of the program he attempted to wrap not the wrapper.

They have since fixed those issues. Notice the date 2005.... a fairly early version of RMX.

The problem is , people automatically assume it must be the wrapper at fault when most of the time it is in fact the plugin itself. Because of the nature of wrapping it isnt always possible to guarentee that a certain plugin we havent tested will work 100%.

certain plugins that use synthedit do not wrap well , again this is because of the nature of the plugin synthedit plugins are usually poorly written and tend to crash.

Any questions feel free to ask.

Cheers

Just to chip in here as a user (I'm not affiliated with fxpansion)..... it rocks. It's VERY stable (in fact you don't notice it's there).... there are no problems with any delay. It just works.
I've been using their wrappers since the very first VST-AU beta release.
They are a top company who create great products (and can often be found chipping in on sites like GS and DUC)
Whoever wrote that bad review you saw, probably made an error somewhere along the line.
Highly recommended.

My recommendation:

VST to Rtas Wrapper, I participated in the beta, but I guess I didn't do enough to get the free version.

Worked great, I got my old magneto vst plug-in to work with Pro Tools LE.

I just got the UAD-1 card but still haven't registered it. Am I to understand that I'm entitled to a free VST to Rtas wrapper?
I'd appreciate any clarification about this from those @ fxpansion chiming in.

Yes,

but its limited. It will only convert the UAD plugins. You need the full version to be able to convert all your VST plugs.
