MacBookPro 15 or 17 inch for Audio/Video?

I’m just about to buy a MacBook Pro mainly to be used for audio and video on stage.
Kind of split between the 15 and the 17-inch.
I’d rather buy the 15” mainly because it is more compact but the 17” has a FireWire 800 port and the 15” only has FireWire400 port…
I already have two OCW FireWire drives that have FW800 and FW 400 ports.
Are there performance differences between the 800 and the 400 ports?

Yes, there are performances differences .... double the bandwidth - basically (but that doesnt always mean what is on the other end can push double the amount of information - that is a whole'nother conversation) ....

If you want FW800 on the 15" get this ::
