Thread Starter | MacBookPro 15 or 17 inch for Audio/Video?
I’m just about to buy a MacBook Pro mainly to be used for audio and video on stage. Kind of split between the 15 and the 17-inch. I’d rather buy the 15” mainly because it is more compact but the 17” has a FireWire 800 port and the 15” only has FireWire400 port… I already have two OCW FireWire drives that have FW800 and FW 400 ports. Are there performance differences between the 800 and the 400 ports? |

Yes, there are performances differences .... double the bandwidth - basically (but that doesnt always mean what is on the other end can push double the amount of information - that is a whole'nother conversation) ....
