Here's the issue for me... the problems with rooms are time domain problems. Most computer-based solutions are frequency domain solutions. What is Dirac? What concerned me about their blurb was that they were enabling you to make it sound the way that -you- wanted it to sound. To me, that says it is not correcting anything. Have you looked further? What does their product lit say to you?

Testing 1212

I am one of the Beta testers for Dirac.
There are operational difficulties with ProTools HD, but that is to do with PT's unique integration of hard an software, rather than Dirac.
It appears to work very well sonically.
It is particularly useful in a bad situation, e.g. when treatment
is not possible or inadequate.
It is very much a point and shoot design.
However the Target Curve is an extremely powerful tool.
You can chose your preferred response and impose it rather than tweaking filter controls. Note this is controlling the speaker as much as the room.
Very useful for passive designs or others without on board Eq or crossover controls.
There is a quite detailed technical paper by the designer on the site.
