UAD issue

For some reason when I apply a mono UAD plug to a stereo track in Cubase 5 only one channel is effected? UAD claims that when a mono plug is applied to a stereo track it acts as dual mono? Anyone one else have this issue? If so how did you resolve it?

Dual mono? 1 mono plugin can not function as dual mono. Why don't you copy the track and have 2 mono tracks with mono plugs and you can tweak them like dual mono. Putting a mono plug on a stereo track has no good purpose in my book except if your doing a mono fx followed by a panner of some sort, on a aux track.

really? UAD claims that if a mono plug is applied to a stereo track it functions as dual mono? I could be wrong... I'll I'm trying to do is apply some of the tape emulations to stereo stems but it only effects one side? I guess I could just split the channels as you suggest...
