Finally made the jump for Q6600 to 1& 2600K and....

The increase in performance is crazy..easily say more then doubled as far as plugs, VST instruments and latency.

use only 64 Samples now on my 8282 MMK3.....I don't see how anything could be better then i7 !

Good news I am still slugging away on my first gen quad core 2 gig ram system . I am trying to hold out for an 8 core i7 if and when they come out . I don't want just double my power , more like triple . Meanwhile I'll be content with rendering a few things to finish my mixes . Anyone have any insight when the 8 core cpus will be out ? non xeon .
