Pro Tools 10 iLok question.

I have searched and searched and can't find an answer to this question. I need to upgrade from PT8 to 10 on my macbook pro. I have an original MBox Factory iLok key I have used for other plugs and sorts.

So my question is. Can I use this iLok or do I need to buy the new one?

Might be a dumb question but I need to know. Thanks.

My Recordings/Credits

From the Avid website, they mention needing an iLok but don't specify whether it must be the 2nd generation model.

Most websites who sell software that requires the new iLok 2 do mention that clearly in their requirements.
This would lead me to assume the 1st generation iLok should be OK for Pro Tools 10.

I don't know for sure however.

Thanks guys! And for the record syncing and registering with the ilok web site is the biggest PITA ever. I'm sure this has already been said before.

I din't find the ilok site too much of a pain, and I like being able to deal with all my registrations in one place. I wish all the developers would use ilok actually.....

that said, I'm on PT10 with an old ilok left over from my powered days and it works fine.

I totally agree that every developer should use iLok. Waves has recently used cloud base and gone away with iLok with V.9
