dm4800 upgrade to win7 64bit. locks up console.meter stutters HELP!

Mobo-ASUS P8Z68 deluxe/gen3, i7-2600k/LGA 1155 cpu,16gb ram, samsung ssd's 128gb:os-daw/256gb-audio projects, Win7 64bit, cubase 6 64bit
expansion PCIe: Siig TI FW , Siig 1.5,2.0, 3.0 usb
Device/Console-Tascam Dm4800

I'm afraid i have a unique issue. Tascam support stumped. sweet water tech stumped, cubase techs no help at all.

First what i have done: Built the upgraded 64bit system listed above. fresh Win 7 64bit install. Optimized ssd drives in the BIOS using the Sweet Water "optimization guide" all drivers updated for FW and firmware for Tascam installed and successfull. all BIOS updates installed for Mobo. Installed Cubase 6 64bit. upgraded Waves plugins to 64 bit. using Drumagog 32bit.
All this was done like a airliner check list.

The Problem: Turn it all on, open a project, playback is fine then notice the Meter bridge on the console/dm4800 is stuttering and then locking up. The remote layer on the consoles transport delays for example: hit stop and it takes anywhere from 3 to 10 secs to respond.
The strange thing is the tracks keep playing no drop outs. And the transport in cubase shows AISO Time usage peaks on and off. but I have bufferring set high. and my computer obviously can handle it. The cpu is nowhere near being heavily used.

yes i have changed and checked my usb cable. and FW cable
yes i have bought and put in TI FW and usb expansion PCIe cards
yes i have re-installed Win 7 and Cubase and all drivers
yes i have switched to the original firmware on the FW card
yes i have reset the console to factory settings and re-routed
yes i am at my wits end. never trouble shooted so much and not fixed the problem. I'm down to one theory. MotherBoard is the Problem.

My Questions: Has anyone had this happen to them? and what Motherboard with 1155 socket. should i get to replace mine. Thank you for any and all suggestions.

I was having the same problems when I first connected my 4800 and cubase 5 / pc windows 7. I was getting delay stop and play and freezing rewind and all kinds of drop outs. I had a 15' firewire cable connecting the 4800 to the pc for a longer run.I replace with the short factory firewire cable and my setup been running stable with no problems since.

Maybe it's your firewire cable. Just saying, It will not hurt to look in that area.

thanks for your response. I have checked my cables mine is a 10ft. it is longer but the playback works fine no drop outs , just the usb controller seems to be the problem. it will stutter and lock up the board but the tracks keep playing. Also My old system with xp and cubase 5 works fine. no issues so i'm pretty sure its not the cable. By the way what mobo do you use? thanks again.

LGA1366 socket motherboard intel core i7. Your firewire cable should be 5 ft max.

I had the same problems as you until i use the factory 5ft firewire cable. But you say you think it's a usb problem it could be. I'm still at 32bit.
