Asio problems at 96khz (Nebula)

Hi.

Running at 96khz I'm only managing to get about 13 instances of Nebula before my Asio gives out (even at 4096). Bearing in mind we're only talking demos of third party stuff which I'm using to help me decide which to buy (so quality reduced, no reverbs etc.). Is this an average for my system (see below) or is it improvable?

I'm running Nebula 32 bit in Cubase 5 32 bit, with an RME Babyface. I know I should prob move everything up to 64 bit, but it's a case of, well, everything WORKS at the moment (everything else anyhow)

These are my system specs -

Mainboard: Asus P6X58D-E
Chipset: Intel X58
Processor: Intel Core i7 960 @ 3200 MHz
Memory: 12288 MB (3 x 4096 DDR3-SDRAM )
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 210
Hard Disk: Western Digital WD800AAJS-22L7A0 ATA Device (80GB)
Hard Disk: Seagate ST325062 (250GB)
OS: Windows 7 Professional Professional Media Center (64-bit)

Thanks

Chris

nebula works best with x64 as it uses plenty of ram as well as cpu.

Also a lot of 3rd party libs like you to use the reverb version of nebula even for consoles and EQ, are you using this?

also some libs like you to change the rate CNV parameter in the MAST section of nebula(click on guru mode to access it) to 3000 or maximum 9000 in the case of VNXT reverbs.Make sure you save it after you've changed it.

IME Nebula forces a change of workflow and you will have to freeze/render/bounce tracks. I am increasingly mixing in Reaper which allows for very efficient rendering of tracks and more importantly busses. Maybe Logic X will address freezing of busses this but in the meantime Reaper and Nebula are a good match. I cannot advise with regard to freezing tracks in Cubase.

Hi, I'm still having the same problems even using the 64 bit version. It is really frustrating. I load about 8 instances of MTC from AlexB and asio goes mental. As an experiment I downloaded trial versions of Reaper and Sonar just in case it was Cubase related (like I said I have Cubase 5 - I was thinking of getting Reaper anyhow because I don't have the cash to upgrade to the full Cubase 6), but it is the same on both of those. But here is the weird thing. If I put the asio buffer up to say 512 or above, it simply won't play. And yet at low Asio settings like 64/128 it works but the audio is slow and breaks up.
