Pardon my ignorance but how the **** do you de-acidize a wave file?

So i get beats to master from guys using fruity loops and most of them turn up with the files that will only match to my grid, real pain in the ass sometimes cuz i record vox here at one tempo and the beats turn up twice as fast and i cant just move my tempo graph cuz audio timings change... Other than using the tempo track to automate for each file during a session (and/or using bounce selection on all the audio events so they are one long clip on each track) is there anyway to get Cubase to not recognize the acid or something.

thanks

Haven't had to do this myself, but my first thought would be to open the wavefile with any audio editor (even Cubase itself might work - I tend to use Audacity freeware for this sort of thing) and then save the project as a new wave file in an appropriate format (because usually you have options to select from).

Hey mate, great idea for a workaround!! but if someone does funny things with tempo within fruit loops then that info isn't saved just the starting of the projects tempo so i have to figure out changes and stuff, becomes. Nightmare to even bounce! but believe it or not the acid info stays when trying to convert the original wave file ive tried converting it from r8 brain to itunes most keep the acid info, its weird! Your idea is a good workaround and will save asses 90% off the time given you have all the info regarding tracks... I just wish there was a way for cubase to ignore the acid info. I can just get the producer to bounce without acidizing files but then ill lose my Sunday Haha

Cakewalk Sonar has a feature that does this in one click (rt.click>toggle groove looping). It will return to the original tempo it was made at, but you can then rt>properties>fit to tempo. Also, in Sonar if you bounce to track it makes a new clip but with the project tempo.

You can change the tempo in cubase without messing up the audio by unlocking the audio from the grid.
It's the yellow musical note button on each track in the arranger window.
If you are changing it to twice as fast it should be back on grid after the change anyway.

Just resave the files in any audio editor without metadata.

For that matter, just route its track to an open track and re record it.
