adobe audition?

I am trying to transfer files from DP 4.5 to Adobe Audition for a friend who tracked with me last week. I tracked in 24/44. His program does either 16bit or 32bit. So I zeroed everything nicely and then exported the soundbites as 32bit/44. He imported the files into Audition and he can see the length of each file, but they are empty--no wave form appears in there. I did it in AIFFs. I know he is on a PC, but I did AIFFs because that is what he did last time when another studio here in town transfered files to him via DP. I already called that engineer, but he couldn't remember what he did.

Anybody familiar with Audition. He said there is only one version of it out there, and I know nothing about it...I guess it is a decendant of CoolEdit? Any ideas?

edit: I just looked at the Audition site...and I guess there are a couple versions...I assume he must have the very first one since he thought there was only one version.

did ya realize that if you import the files in Audition for the first time you'd have to wait till the computer calculated the waveform?

just a thought

I don't have access to his computer. He is the one with audition and he is down in Norman. So maybe you are right...?

There are 3 versions of Audition---1.0 which was basically Cool Edit Pro with a new name change, 1.5 was the first Adobe upgrade to that, and Audition 2.0 which is a completely new program, with some familair looks to it, but completely new engine.

Yes, sometimes things take time to load so that may be your problem. I haven't done transfers like you're talking about so I couldn't tell you, but I would suggest going to the official Audition website's customer forum..and posting the problem there, and you should get the proper answer, as there are many very helpful people posting there.
