best reverb plugin (AU)

hi there,

I'm using Logic Pro and I'm wondering what you're using as reverb plugins.

I like Space Designer and I also use Altiverb 5 but I'm looking for something that sounds different than convolution reverbs.

Is a Powercore a good investment for reverbs?
Are there any other alternatives as AU plugins?

Thanks!
Vincent

The only great non-convolution reverb that I am aware of is the Sony Oxford Reverb. It is not AU, though I think if you did invest in PowerCore you can get it to run on that in Logic (I may be wrong). I know Sony does make a version of its reverb for PowerCore.....

Good luck!

you can get different kind of reverbs within convolution reverb.

e.g., halls, rooms, plates, delays, even "preamp simulations" (which doesn't do what they say, but cooler for other purposes).

have you looked at noisevault.com, or other impulse websites? if you do a search here in GS, i remember there's a thread that had a big list of'em.

aside from Space Designer (and i've used other convo's programs before).... mos def outboard. they're a steal these days.

Powercore is very good for reverbs the included classic verb is good and the Megaverb however the VS3 which is an optional Tc plug in is amazing and is
comparable in quality o high end outboard reverbs.

Adding a digital hardware reverb like the M-3000 or similar is very easy with Logic. Apart from sounding good it'll free up DSP.

However, if you want a plug-in you could do worse than check out the IK Multimedia CSR Classik Studio Reverb, which sounds quite different from the SpaceDesigner, and will complement it perfectly with it's warmer and full sound.

thanks guys for your answers.

I'm testing all of the above right now.

The only reason I don't want to use external reverbs is for the ease of use/recalls on a plugin.

It works best for what I'm doing every day.

I agree it still sounds better though :-)

I've been liking the reverb plug by Arts Acoustics. Not too expensive either.

I think you'll be surprised by the quality of the CSR.

I use my two TC hardware reverbs and Space Designer (for effect = weird reverbs), and now the CSR too.

Come to think of it, I use delay a lot more than reverb.
