Thread Starter | Cubase launching problem
I know this was asked a few times but nobody posted a solution so I'm trying again cause maybe a new member has a solution or somebody found it.
Everytime i launch cubase, it scans all my plugins, it took about 1 minute and a half.
Trashing prefs didn't work.
Already google'd it and looked around cubase forum.
I know 1 minute and a half sounds like nothing but it's too much while working with different daws and having to jump from one to another |

The more plugins Cubase has to look for the longer it takes. That's been my experience anyway.

Well it doesn't scan bundles, it scans all plugins separate, it's hell.
Pro tools scans bundles and not all plugins inside of a bundle.

Only ask as whenever the clocks go back/forward the scan happens. Otherwise trashing prefs causes it so maybe it's to do with write permissions on your prefs folder.
UAC disabled?

In Cubase go to:
Devices
Plug-in Information
VST Plugins TAB
Update
and also, Update Plug-in Information.
Most likely, you have a TON of plugins there
*IF your bouncing around other DAWs, you can leave Cubase open there. Just go into Cubase and set it to Release Audio Driver in the Background. When you open another DAW, Cubase will let go of the audio driver so you can work the other DAW. Just an idea

They don't know the answer, I saw a lot of members asking about it, even google shows a lot of threads about it in different forums, nobody knows how to stop that scanning and why it happens.

If it makes you feel better, I ask the SAME question. When I open Logic, StudioOne, Reaper, BAM, everything is there in a flash. With Cubase, it takes a minute

My Cubase startup to the project assistant with lots of plugs is around 12 seconds.
Only when the full scan happens a few times a year....after updates, daylight saving, trashed prefs does it take over a minute.
Go to your Appdata folder. Find your VST2xPlugins Cubase.xml
What is the date modified date it is showing?
Delete it.
Now open Cubase....you will get the full scan and you should see a newly created xml of the same name.
Open it in a txt reader and check the contents to get an idea of how much is in there.
Close it and then close Cubase.
Does the xml modified by date update itself on closing Cubase?
Do the contents still look the same?
