Problems with Logic Bounced Aif Files in other Apps!

Hi there,

iposted this already in the Logic Forum from Apple:

Seems like this is a very bad bug in the Logic and WB

today i had to put a CD Master together on WB, cause WB is not exporting DDP, i decided to Bounce the Mix and put it into Sonic PreMaster App, where i set the Markers manually and export the CD as DDP.

Strange was, that the Imported File in PreMaster was about 4 hrs long (the CD has 38 min), so i tryed to open it up on BiasPeak Pro 5.02....same strange time 4 hrs file.

So i tryed to open the bounced WB File in Logic and there it works fine.

Next i was trying to save the WB file in Logic under a new File name with the same bit depth and everything...guess what, no other application can work with it, cause it´s 4hrs long.

So i tryed to open the original WB Bounce on QT, and at the End of the File i have some strange noise, sounds like an old radionoise.....

Somebody else havin those Issues?

No, that sounds quite weird.

Never experienced anything like that while using Logic pro or WaveBurner.

Re. bit depth and sample rate, what does it say when you import the file in Logic?

Did you try trashing all preferences and doing some basic system maintenance using Disk Utility and OnyX?

Have you checked you haven't activated any funny stuff like PE or SCMS in WB?

Are you saying that you have a 38min file that keeps showing up as 4 hours?

No, this is a bug with WaveBurner. When ever you bounce out an Aiff and import it into iTunes or some other 3rd party apps you will get incorrect times. WB is having problems writing the correct Aiff header. This is a known bug and has been discussed on a few other forums.
Other should try before answering "no problem here"
To test, just bounce a file out of WB as an Aiff and import into itunes file time 6:45:47

If you bounce as a .wav you will get correct times. Hopefully it will be fixed soon. Other Apps open with different times other than 6hr. Peak opens 4 hr files and DSP quattro open 3hr files

strangely enough STP and QT open the files with correct times.

Oh well....

I just wish, that Apple comes up with a Major update for WB, fixing this Issue and let it export the CD Mastersession into DDP File, cause all the other Solutions for Mac-CD Mastering, like Sonic or Bias, just don´t work stable enough....
