The "upgrade" they offer on their website is $500!! You get plug-ings as well but is there any way to just get the track upgrade? It seems after spending so much money on the hardware and plug-ins, the extra track count should be sold for MUCH cheaper. I don't get that company.

rewire

You can use Ableton Live in ReWire mode...

Here is a link to a brief tutorial on how it works, on spkguitar's (duc) website.

Or you can purchase the Musicians Toolkit and sell the plug-ins, and end up with a 48 track limit within PT LE for minimal scrill.

i've seen folks break it up on eBay

selling the plugs seperate, and the track count upgrade for like $200-$300.

It just seems like an aggravating move on the company's part to make you have to pay for the track upgrade. I spent $1600 on the 002 R and like $500 (Can.) on plug-ins. It just seems like a scam to have to pay for the upgrade which includes a lot of plug-ins I already have. I don't want it for free, but it seems rather unwarranted to even pay $200 for a software upgrade since the software was initially bought for full price. Now I'll stop bitching and look on ebay.

And get this, for that $500 you get a 20 meg file. What a complete rip off.

I know their hardware/ software deal is a drag, but I understand that that is simply a shitty bussiness move and am willing to accept it. You know the saying: Don't like it... don't buy it. Whatever. What upsets me is the bully moves on their parts which amount to a scam becasue if you already spent $2500 on a rig, well you aren't going to stop short on a 16 track upgrade for $500, but you will feel f*#king ripped off! Greedy pricks. See, its moves like that that make me feel that people who crack audio software are justified in doing so.

1. wait till Labor Day sale or whatever discount you can get from local stores.

2. buy full price, then sell whatever you don't need on fleaBay to make your $$ back

3. add 1. & 2. together. if you're lucky, 48 tracks will only cost you $100.

4. work for Digidesign tutt
