Thread Starter | Converting Nuendo sessions to Protools using EDL Convert 4.2 Hi, Little problem here... I'm trying to convert a Nuendo 3.2 session to Protools 7.1. It's a big session : 90 minutes project / 24 bits / 48kHz / 21 tracks (mostly stereo ones) What I did : 1) exported an OPEN TL from NUENDO 2) opened it in EDL CONVERT PRO 4.2.313 3) converted and saved it in Protools 5.0 session 4) opened in Protools 7.1 (M-powered version) Results : No problem with the audio at all. I've got a Protools session with more than 3200 audio events at the right time code and on the good tracks. (All the stereo tracks have been splitted to dual mono tracks.) The only thing : all the fades and crossfades became linear ones. EDL CONVERT is great ! And the technical service is very fast to answer ! Nuendo seems to have a bug when converting track volume automations in OpenTL format : A volume of 0 dB in Nuendo 3.2 is translated to 6 dB in Protools 7.1 A volume of -10 dB in Nuendo 3.2 is translated to -14 dB in Protools 7.1 A volume of -15 dB in Nuendo 3.2 is translated to -24 dB in Protools 7.1 A volume of -20 dB in Nuendo 3.2 is translated to -34 dB in Protools 7.1 A volume of -25 dB in Nuendo 3.2 is translated to -44 dB in Protools 7.1 A volume of -30 dB in Nuendo 3.2 is translated to -54 dB in Protools 7.1 Does Anyone notice that ? Edouard. This problem occurs even between Nuendo and Wavelab. (Nuendo OpenTL export -- to -- EDL CONVERT --to-- WAVELAB audio montage) |

| Try exporting as AES31 in Nuendo. Then in EDL Convert save as a PT5 session. Just did a bunch of projects, including an hour long tv show and it worked well.

Thread Starter | Hi, Thank you for your answer. No, it won't work because AES31 (version 1) doesn't support volume and panorama curves. My problem is not to transfer the events ! (It worked great) My problem is to get the volume automations translated correctly. I've made several tests with my client. Nuendo has definitly a bug when exporting automations with the OpenTL format. We've tried with different versions of the soft. I'm very surprised that nobody talks about it on the Nuendo's forums.
