help on routing daw,dm80,01x motif xf ,etc

hi i have some trouble find the best routing for my gear .i need a little help to put out the most of those things...pc running nuendo with nuendo audio link card ( rme multiface1) and 64 bits windows7,yamaha 01x ( use the pres as it have not drivers for firewire and 64 bits) roland dm80 i have it for its converters but i dont know yet how to use them ,a motif xf8 ,focuswrite penta ,symetrix 528 .my mini studio is 2x3 so i only use it for programing ,and recording vocs ,guitars some percs and strings ( it is sound treated ) how can i route them to get the best results ?now i send analog inputs from motif to rme ,and mic from penta to rme ..these days trye the mic with yamaha pres and spdif and i like it better than the penta ..thanks for your time

Looks like you're not using your 01x and dm80 much. Have you considered selling them?

hi

i am not using them becouse i dont know how to rout them right.
i find the pres of 01x better than the penda or symetrix for my taste so better shell the penta or the symetrix ...i want to trye use the ad of dm 80 so i think if i go from motif to the dm analog and then from dm 80 spdif to rme or better analog from motif to dm 80 and analog again from dm80 to rme ? even if i pass throu the dm the plug ins from my pc ...from rme out to analog in of dm80 and then analog or spdif again to rme in ? confusing ? (i know it is better to go for a aurora or fireface or apollo etc butbi want to use properly my gear before go bor better ones ...)

I'm not that sure that the DM80 has better converters than the multiface. I honestly doubt it. I would connect the 01x spdif out to multiface spdif in and the and also the in to the out. Then connect the motif 2 your multiface ins as well as the symetrix. Use outs 1 and 2 for speakers and 3 and 4 for the motif and 5 for symmetrix. Here is the simpler setup

Sorry. Not familiar with that one. You have a good setup already. Just have a good computer and software and you'll be fine IMO.

Work with what you have and make the most of it. It's easy enough trying to get everything out there. But in the end your hard work and ears will make it happen. Just push yourself to the limit.
