cheers! I should also add that you can get any combination of clips going from different scenes, and capture that as a new scene. The possibilities are limitless.

As for mixing all DAW's today are well equipped for that. There's nothing in Live that would make a mixing engineer jump board because of it. Looks actually a little toyish IMO. But that's a mater of taste. Some like it, some don't...
What do you mean by 'live tracking'? And what are 'take folders'?

I felt that way when I first started using Live, and I would jump back to Logic for big vocal tracking sessions. But eventually I got a template and workflow together in Live, to the point where I'm actually more comfortable comping there than in Logic. I find it easier to see what's going on, and I also find it easier to get the crossfades and little detailed touch-ups right in Live, although I also like the swiping tool in Logic a lot. Live is full of surprises; if you use it for a while, it can really grow on you. (Depends on people of course....)

Check the Quick Comps section.

Apple - Logic Pro 9 - Write, record, edit, and mix your own music.

Quick comps.
Quick Swipe Comping makes it easy to build the perfect track. Just swipe over the best sections of each recording to create a seamless comp, complete with transition-smoothing crossfades. You can access all the traditional edit functions — including cut, copy, paste, fades, crossfades, and more — without leaving Quick Swipe Comping. Multiple comps and Autosave let you experiment without worrying about losing your work. And you can use Edit Groups to synchronize your selections across related tracks, such as a multimic recording of a vocal group.
Can't find the word tracking there, and I dunno what comping means either. Cheers anyway.
