Good tutorial. I have noticed that this is one of the digital comps that has a hardwarish charter when inserted. It appears to have a midrange boost without a volume increase on the meters or on an in air DB meter.

Anyone else notice the same?

I know what you mean, like I said earlier I hear it as a thinning of the bass, but I think of it as sounding 'mid-rangy'.
