my pro tools has stopped working

I was working on a pro tools LE 7.0, 002, (OS X 10.4) project happy as larry, then I closed it, and changed my external clock source to 88.2 (the last one was 44,1) and tried opening a new project. The 002 was syncing via spdif.

The window that normally comes up telling you what audio file it opens popped up but it was empty. After a while I decided nothing was going to happen so I crashed out of it (option apple delete) and restarted.

Now pro tools starts up, but I can't open a saved session, and I can't even start a new session (it gets gets as far as the "what sample rate" etc window) and all that happens is the little rainbow wheel.

I have even tried reinstalling protools, but to no avail.. any ideas?

just curious. What happens when you set your clock back at 44.1?

you were on the right track

I figured it out as I was typing the post.

I forgot that after it crashed the first time I put my clock back to 44.1

But then I was trying to start sessions in 88.2

The session clock and external clock must have to be the same (I would've thought an error message would be nice)

so I think its all good now
