Building a new PC around an E-MU 1820M ? Advice needed

Ok, finally upgrading my P4 from years ago.

I own a E-MU 1820m, that works great, can't complain, and am pretty sure I want to build my new system around it.

Obviously, the 1820m being PCI, i have to get a mobo with NATIVE PCI support. Only a few chipsets offer this, inclucing the Q67.

Im looking into this board : Asus P8Q67-M DO (B3)
ASUS - Motherboards- ASUS P8Q67-M DO/TPM

CPU wise, i 'll be going with Intel Core i7 2600 - 3.4Ghz. Good bang for the buck.

Any thoughts, on the setup ? Will my 1820m will run well?

I've done quite a lot of research concerning chipsets/mobos that will support PCI interfaces well, but need some user experience, to confirm my choices.

Kim

Didnt mention case, power supply, Ram, HDDs, cooling, as there are enough examples in this sub-forum, of successful setups regarding those components.

I would also say that the AMD chip that I got is a better value product that buying an i7

PassMark - AMD Phenom II X6 1090T - Price performance comparison

performance wise it still delivers the good. I use cubase 6 64 bit, Komplete 8 ultimate, alloy ozone on big projects and it works flawlessly!

I would think about the cost, is paying extra going to be worth it at the end of the day?

P.P

I can also play all the current games no problem as well!
