Vocals drowning beat i hate it

im using a behringer B-2 condensor mic outputing to a presonus eureka to mbox.I make my beats in FL Studio 6 and i mix the beat pretty clean but when i add vocals they cancel out some of the sounds in the beat even sometimes when i eq and add plug-ins it's still not perfect.sounds like the vocals and samples are fighting each other.I got a decent set-up but i could use a better mic maybe a blue bird/blue baby bottle

behringer B-2 condensor mic
presonus eureka
m-box
pro tools 7
fl studio 6
mpc 1000
waves plug-ins
ozone
and tons of other plug-ins i couldnt ask for more except the SSL 4000

someone please help me ive been recordin for years and i still cant get the sound i want.

Read up on "masking"

You need to re-arrange something. While the B2 isn't the best mic in the world, you just told me you have multiple elements in your mix occupying the same sonic space. This means they will fight until you separate them. Good luck.

are you recording over the 2-track of the beat? this could be the problem. once the vocals are down there is no way to correct problem frequency in the beat. import the beat as separated files and mix it all. recording over a 2-track always sounds like vocals pasted sloppily on the beat.
