Logic Pro 2 Channels for Stereo Inputs

Howdy!

I've been using Logic Pro for maybe 5 years now, and have just acquired an Allen & Heath GSR 24M which I love so far.

The desk has the ability to route from the DAW back to the desk, which is great for mixing. It's also a DAW controller. Problem is, if I have a stereo channel (say for example a VSTi or stereo audio) it will route through two channels. Fine, but as a controller only one of the faders controls the stereo channel, and the to the right of it controls the next channel. But the fader to the right of it has the right hand stereo feed of the instrument routed through it, causing much confusion!

What I'd like to know is, can I set a stereo channel to be two mono channels in Logic? Eg there's two faders in the mixer.

Thanks!

Have you tried using 2 mono channels, panned hard L&R, and group them to be controlled by one fader?

yeah, that's the work around I used for the last project! I end up having one track with is the stereo instrument, then a 2nd track which is an audio track with no input or output, grouped so the faders move together. It works great (bit of a lag on the motorised fader, but you can cope with it), but it does mean my project ends up filled with loads of annoying empty audio tracks!
