What BEAT generator?

I am new to creating beats/drum tracks and don't use anything yet.

What I am looking for is a program or library of wav files where I can just put in the BPM and it will give me a huge selection of patterns and rhythms.

Sound quality is important. As long as I have access to the .wavs then I can assemble them in my DAW.

Suggestions?

What sort of music are you making? I personally think Ableton live is the king when it comes to beatmaking. Build your own library, there are tons of libraries you can buy if you want à foundation so you can start working right away. Sample your own drums.

If you don't want to program your drums then I guess you're looking for loops, rex files will conform to whatever bpm you set. Won't always sound good if you deviate too much from the original tempo though.

Check out Total Rex if you can still find it. Tons of stuff in that one.

Check out Stylus RMX (Spectrasonics).

Ah yes, RMX saw that in use recently - pretty awesome. Anyone use Reason? - saw that in action too.

You saw both in action... which one did you like?
RMX is a groove based plugin... whereas Reason is a all in one sequencer loaded with instrument and drum VIs.
RMX might be a better choice if you're looking for a dedicated groove instrument.

i would stay away from reason. I have seen so many producers get to comfortable with it.. and then switching over to logic/ableton/ PT is hard. reason just doesnt have the options to be pro... so eventually u will switch... but then someone will say.. but this pro used it!! Logic seams to be the favorite for production.. but man is it nice to just have your beat in pro tools and just get an hour of studio time for lets say live horns.. no bouncing out.. plus mixong recording/midi/programing is key to making groovy original music..

It was only a couple minutes of each and I was just watching. So I couldn't come to any conclusion.
Ableton, Stylus RMX, any others?

Are you not aware of the new Reason rack extensions? (3rd party plug ins) There's been some classic tracks both written and also sometimes, fully produced in Reason, Prodigy ,Claude von Stroke..

I'm not sure there is a product like that tbh. The live drum romplers come with built in grooves but I can't think of a drum machine that does what you want.
