Windows to Mac

Okay guys, couple questions:

I am looking to purchase a MBP here in the near future and I have concerns for my setup.

Right now I'm running Ableton Live 8 and use NI Massive pretty much exclusively as my only synth VST (not entirely true as I use Camel Crusher and FerricTDS but yeah). I have a lot of material that I would like to edit, mix, finish working on, etc. within the MBP. Ideally I would like to be able to move my .als files back and forth from Windows to Mac seamlessly but I'm gonna take a guess and say that probably isn't happening.

So, should I anticipate any problems with moving my .als files from Windows to MacOS? Also, am I going to have trouble with Massive and all the sound design I've done when moving it over to Mac? Has anyone had experience doing this? Tips to make it less painful?

In case someone says anything, I DAFS and found nothing so if a thread exists for this already just post a link and I'll shut my piehole.

Thanks guys!

I haven't done that with Live files, but I have done it with Photoshop, After Effects, Illustrator, Office files, etc. Never had a problem.

As for NI files I have Komplete and the library files (presets and samples) are the same for Windows and Mac OS. So you shouldn't have a problem here either.

You could worry more about apple's software politics than your setup, because right now they try to bully all the developers/software houses into the app store, with an entrance fee and a 30% slice of their profit.
But you could as well run Windows with these MacBooks.....

I use both Mac and windows with ableton and have no issues. Just make sure you format the hard drive you use to transfer correctly. I had to do that on the Mac with fat 32 format setting.make sure u back up ur files too,

Good advice. When I switched to Mac I didn't think much about my external HD's formatting and thought I could just fix it along the way. My old live sets became useless because samples and plug in settings could never be found.

Why would he care more about your views on Apple and software developers than his own setup?

There's a specific piece of hardware I really want that is only compatible with the MacOS. Otherwise, I'd stick with Windows.
