Did it once by accident

I had a default audio drive setup as one of my networked drives. Recorded 2 or 3 tracks of accoustic guitar before I realised. It didnt effect the recording or the playback.. in fact I only noticed when I switched the other machine off and the project crashed

Not very helpful, sorry

Network attached storage is becoming quite popular lately, it shouldn't be too hard to find a good deal. What's your price range, and is redundancy important to you?

we had i na studio , one problem was somethin grelated to the pro control that also used ethernet, so we went optical instead. mounted on a separate network but then on eof the computer conected to that network could have the drives mounted and other copmuters of the regular network could mount everything from that computer. fiber optics is faster... dont think u need that fast though.

I often play samples (orchestral, loops) from a networked machine over gigabit LAN.

How are prices on gigabit NAS ?? still +€300 for a 250Gb harddrive 100mbps with 2x usb support in Belgium...
