upgrade to Mercury opinions?

Hi all,

Curious to get a few opinions. I have a bunch of waves plugins, Kramer collection, MPX, PIE, Helios, CLA compressors, and CLA collection, JJP, vocal rider, H-EQ, musicians bundle 1, 2 and renn max, API collection, aphex plug in.

With the 50% off Mercury this month with the $200 voucher I got for upping WUP for v9, I can "upgrade" to mercury for a little over $1300.

Like most, I don't really have $1300 to blow, but can make it work. Seems like a good deal. I am curious to others opinions, thoughts.

Thanks,

Greg

Two reasons to buy: You need the plugs, or you foresee a need for them soon enough for the cost to be off-set. Otherwise, it is just another pile of stuff to wade through. The sweet thing about Mercury is the update policy. I still haven't made the move.

Same boat here ...i don't need the mercury , and a shame that ssl is not included but i might make the jump too because i'm trying to minimise brands to simplify maintenance and 200 $ per years to have pretty all new plugins is the real deal ...in fact

I didn't realize SSL wasn't included. Hmm, I have the Glue bus compressor which fills that gap a bit.

Concur with Jeezo on the WUP. I know WUP seems to get a lot of bad press, but with the Mercury in particular you essentially keep all products up to date and get all new products for the one price. If there are no major upgrades or any new plugins you can just wait on your WUP. There is no penalty for letting your WUP run out, you can just renew when you want to update.

If you eventually decide you really want SSL, then you can upgrade to Mercury + Studio Classics (not sure why the call it that when it only adds the SSL 4000) and still have all your products in one bundle that is capped at $200/year.
