I don't know if it's any good, but TDK do a little thermal printer for about £90. There are other thermal printers and there are some inkjet printers that can print directly on the cd. As I say, I have no experience with these, but they do look quite interesting. Let me know if you see what the quality is like.

We use a Primera Signature III inkjet printer - it does a great job, but it takes over a minute to print each CD, which is a pain if you have a large quantity to do. And we have to use CDs with a matte finish printable surface. http://www.primera.com/products/products_printers.asp

Primera Bravo I use the Primera Bravo and find it very nice for smaller runs. This machine has nice SW to automate both burning (mine also does DVDs) and printing of 25 discs unattended. GigaBoy

Prices vary according to configuration. If you're looking for the cheapest full-color option, it's probably the Epson Stylus Photo 900, which sells for about US$200.00. I bought one with 30 CDR's for $203.74 delivered, and got $80.00 in rebate checks, so it was a pretty good deal. I soon replaced it with a Bravo, though. The 900 is a manual-feed printer, and that got tired fast. I picked up some dupe jobs and was on my way with the Bravo. Here's a Bravo link. Here's an Epson 900 link.

I use a Rimage thermal printer, very fast, sharp waterproof prints. Lots of money but if you print lots of cd's then thermals make a lot more sense than inkjets. The TDK is made by Casio, it only prints on a small area and cartridges aren't exactly cheap.

I use an Epson 950 Stylus Photo printer. Good for words and little logos, bad for a "whole CD" cover. You never get them aligned proper, means there's most of the times a little border and the inner size can't be set to small enough values, so you keep a white border too. And you have to feed it by hand. thats okay for 3, but when you want to print 30 it starts to get smelly. But I like it anyway, the CDs look really cool and much better than the other solutions on the market. kosi

does the 950 do gloss on body or is it matte only? Do you have to use the Epson design software for the CD artwork??? thanks

It's a kind of matte de luxe (found this word in dictionary) Do you know printers, that can print glossy ? I think, it has something to do with the paper, where you print on, but I don't know too much about this. I print on white CDRs with the Epson software, which is enough, for what I'm doing. I never tried anything different. Anyway, meanwhile I'd buy the Epson 900, which is much cheaper and seems to have all the important features. nice weekend, kosi

I really fancy the TDK unit ( just for neatness not for any big runs ) but they didn't have Mac drivers planned last time I checked which is a shame Jam
