My friend is looking for a brand new laptop. For $300-600. He will be setting his Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 (USB PreAmp) and Shure SM7B Dynamic Microphone to it, as well as a 1TB External Harddrive. He also uses FL studio for his recording software.

He wants a larger screen, preferably 17"+ - I recommended HP...possibly dell, since that's what he had prior. Would anybody have any recommendations - especially of any specific models that might come in handy to him?
