Problems with Waves 9 64 bit GOLD and GTR3?

HI:
I have installed the 64 bit V9 Gold which is supposed to include GTR. I have both Gold and GTR in version 6 on my PC.
After installing V9, GTR crashes in stand alone mode and using as a VST in 3 different DAWs(Sonar, Reaper and Studio One V2) I cannot load ANY amps without a crash. Stomps, Tuner work.
An email to Waves prompted a reply to install GTR V9 seperately but I have the same problems.
Anyone else with the problem or even maybe, possibly a fix?
Thanks.

Have you tried to completely uninstall v6 before installing v9?

Thanks for the response.
Yep, tried overwriting, tried removing it. Deleted all keys in the registry etc. All works except for the amps. Right now I reloaded V6 and it run in stand alone mode.
So I have two icons, one points to the V6 version of GTR and it works. The shortcut that points to the V9 version(in a different location) crashes while loading plugins, presumably the amps.
Waves is gone for the weekend without responding to my second email on Thursday. I assumed they are overwhelmed by support questions for V9.

GTR 64 bit problem fixed, with caveat.....

After Waves support helped out for an hour, we finally found the problem. In Windows 7 64 bit only, in the Program Files(86) folder,GTR V6 left an empty folder (GTR I think) which caused the crash, as it looked there instead of the new folder(Waves_GTR, I think). This crashed the stand alone as well as the VST in a DAW. Removing the offending folder did the trick.
The one caveat is that the Tuner "Needle" no longer appears when tuning a guitar or bass. Unfortunate.

Wow, an empty folder causes something to crash? Sheesh . . .

Can you please be more specific?
I think I have the same problem, but I don't find the folder your are talking about. Where is it?
Thanks!
