Sorry but can you be a bit more specific?
In what respect does it sound "better"?
Do you found the sound "warmer"?
Maybe it sounds more "analog"?
Can you do a null test???

More depth! More engaging! Smoother highs! Deeper lows! More analogue! Warmer! More high-rez! More bloom! More authority! More 3D!

But why should Cubase 6.5 sounds different to Cubase 6 ???

Steinberg itself have said, that the new things in Cubase 6.5 are two new VST-synths (Retrologue and Padshop), an updated audio quantize function (audio warp is integrated in quantize menue), soundcloud export, new Amp-rack presets, some new file format support - but they said nothing about a new audio engine or higher headroom or something like that.

Ok - we will see - anyway I will be at "Frankfurt Musik Messe 2012" and ask them.
They should know what they have changed.

It does indeed.

I compared a song I mixed on Cubase 6 with a song that Andy Wallace mixed on Cubase 6.5, and the song mixed on Cubase 6.5 sounded significantly better than the one mixed on Cubase 6!

There you go.

I can not only confirm that my mixes do indeed sound better on 6.5 when compared to C6, but I also look significantly better looking when listening to 6.5. Well done Steinberg - an all round great effort!

The stereo field is so wide that tracks don't sit In the mix, they sit AROUND the mix.

My neighbours complain when I pan stuff too wide. It ends up smack bang in the middle of their living room.

And when I did a mix at another studio I accidentally clipped a passing cyclist on the road outside the studio while doing a surround mix.

Beware!

apparently shure are going to introduce an sm7.5b soon, only £40 to upgrade!

has a bugfix that means it does justify the hype after all

Actually, the SM7b is the third revision of the original SM7. The SM7a addressed noise issues, and improved the mount. The SM7b added the bigger foam windscreen. I don't recall anyone demanding their original SM7 be upgraded for free.

That's interesting, because I always felt like listening to Logic made me feel fat and bloated but I could never prove it because I don't have a scale or a full-length mirror. I'm looking for a robust methodology to test these theories...

I'm looking for a witty, thoroughly engaging DAW with just a clever hint of a frisky, playful aftertaste.

The chorus is a little weak... I think it needs more lasers.
