is there an audio editor that can do the following?

Hello. Anybody know an audio editor for os x that can do the following steps?

- Open multiple files (e.g. 5 single drum hits)

- Select a user-preset group of plugins (e.g. An EQ with a low-pass at 100hz + a compressor with user-defined settings) which is applied to all 5 sounds.

- Flatten/Save/Overwrite sounds with new effects settings.

Hope you can help!

Have a productive weekend all!

Bias Peak does this king of batch processing, I usually use it for sample rate conversion, or file type conversion (wav, air etc).
I'll have to check it does exactly what you're asking, but I'm pretty sure you can apply a number of customised settings in a pre-defined order.

Cheers for your response, that looks like it could be ideal. From this video it looks like you're limited to Peak's standard processes. If that has some basic EQ/filtering included I can live without the rest.

Thanks again.. very helpful, as always with the GS forum!

Also, check out Sample Manager.

It took a little while to get into, but I think it's a very flexible batch processor.

you're not limited to the standard processes, you can set up your own vst plugins too. you can't automate knobs etc when doing batch, but i think there is some kind of way of applying processes via an envelope, but i've not investigated that.

there is a peak 6 manual download on their site, but actually 7 is the latest version so don't know why that's not on there. if you want to read the 7 manual then pm me and i'll send you it.

you can get a 14 day trial too, but batch process is disabled unfortunately.

I've been using Peak since V3, and have not seen any Peak 7 manual, just an addendum to the 6 manual. Can you send me the 7 manual?

Thanks,

I second Sample Manager. I've used it a lot to convert and process audio files for game design and sound library creation. An excellent, streamlined tool.

Wave Editor from the same company is also a refined, pro-level application, although Sample Manager is their full-featured batch processor.
