Sharing plug-ins between 2 DAWs, how?? Thanks!

Hello,

I have Pro Tools 8 installed on my Win 7 computer and I have recently bought Presonus Studio One V2 and installed it as well. My question is, how do I get these 2 DAWs to share my 3rd party plug-ins?

Thanks, KT

You'll need VST versions of your plugs for Studio one - it doesn't do RTAS, which are presumably the ones you have from Protools.

Which plug-ins?

Many will have installers for multiple formats (RTAS, VST, etc.)

I would like to use Komplete 4 and Sample Tank in Presonus studio one.

Is there a method to point Studio one to my Digidesign Plug-in folder without some sort of conflict?

Thanks, KT

NO... see above.

Presonus and Protools use a different plugin format. So, while both can use the same software titles, you need to install 2 different versions. RTAS for Pro Tools and VST for Presonus

Thanks, I always pick both the RTAS and VST buttons when I install plug-ins just in case. I found the plug-in installation instructions in my Presonus manual so I'll point it to the plug-in folder and see what happens.

Thanks, KT...
