Fireface ufx heeeeeeeelp

aaaaaaaaaaaarghhh im soo confused/angry right now........i just bought a fireface ufx to use as my interface for my computer and I have not been having a good time with it........
It took me a whole night trying to figure out how to get the driver to see the hardware and i still couldnt get it working through the FW so i stuck to USB. But after all that i go to plug the ADAT out of my motu 896 to the RME ADAT in and set the clock to ADAT 1 on the motu and internal on the RME but i caaaaant get any audio to pass through to the UFX meters or totalmix software
I feel like this is about to be the biggest waste of money / most over rated piece i have used, but hopefully i am proved wrong in the next week if i can get everything working and stable

So many factors to check. I suspect an incompatibility issue here with the audio interface and your OS.

Get a quick glance at manual: http://www.rme-audio.de/download/fface_ufx_e.pdf

And go to the system requirements. Does your system comply the requirements? For example it uses Firewire 400 specs, and Pentium Core Duo processor if you are using USB.

Sometimes these basic requirements are overlooked and are often the main source of problem when installing the drivers.

The next thing to do is to check whether you are following the actual installation procedures, you can go to the quick start section of the manual as it illustrates how you should be installing the audio interface drivers. You must be using the latest drivers compatible with your system.

If your system complied with the requirements and you have faithfully follow the instructions in the quick start line by line. Chances are, you might have a problematic drivers or hardware related issue. Better contact the manufacturer to have that troubleshoot themselves.

You need to connect the adat out of the ufx to adat in on the motu aswell otherwise you dont send wordclock. And read the manual...

sorry i thought i put that, but ya i did that, and i have read the manual back and forth... their really isnt to much about why the digital signal would not be showing up on the fireface or multimix
i was thinking it was something to do with the motu but all the I/O for the digital channels look good to me

its all synced up, i just need signal/audio!!!!!!

have you read the totalmix manual, and understand how to assign inputs/outputs and set levels? That is the usual stumbling block with RME... TotalMix can do so much.
