Apogee problems, help needed!

I just updated Symphony I/O to the new 4.1 release. Everything went fine, but problems came later.

I started comparing Duet 2 vs Symphony I/O converters. Both are connected to Grace Design M904b monitor controller. (Symphony straight from the breakout cable, Duet 2 with 7m Vovox cables). Duet 2 is connected to iMac, Symphony to Mac Pro with Symphony 64 PCI-E card.

I playbacked the same track from both Macs in iTunes, exactly at the same time, so there was no clicks when I switched between the converters/interfaces.

The Duet 2 sounded "better", or at least louder, maybe 0,5db. Very little, but I could clearly hear the volume drop when switching to Symphony.

Then I switched Symphony to USB mode and the volume difference was reversed. Now the Symphony I/O sounded about 0,5db louder than the Duet 2. Weird. Why is this? Any ideas?

But then the problems came. I switched Symphony back from the USB mode to the PCI-E mode. The computer didn´t and won´t recognice the Symphony I/O anymore. Maestro will crash everytime when opening it, also the Audio Midi setup will crash when opening it.

I have tried restarting both few times, but it didn´t help. So what to do?

I also have recognising problems with the Duet 2 and my iMac (also MBA). Sometimes it won´t just recognise and I have to restart everything to get the system running.

I submitted a support form to Apogee, so hopefully they have some answers for me, but is anyone here experienced similar problems?
