extracting a MIDI file from auto-tune's graphical mode capture

is there a way to render an auto-tune capture from its graphical mode as a MIDI file? I'm trying to make a guide track for a client of mine based on her performance. I think it will sound cleaner if I can identify the pitches clearly with an instrument patch.

I've found a way to do it with melodyne editor, however even though I sync the tempo to the session (from standalone mode where I generate the file from), it's always off from the actual pro tools session.

thanks in advance.

I don't think so. Melodyne does let you export a midi files, you will have to edit it for best results though.

thanks. yeah I got melodyne to do it in the standalone version, but not as a plug-in.

for some reason though if I render the MIDI file from the standalone version the tempo is way off. even though I manually input the session tempo.

any advice would be most appreciated.

thanks.

Cubase and Logic do this natively. What daw are you using that won't convert audio to midi?

pro tools HD 10. huge oversight on my end if it does do that, but I'd be pretty surprised.

Use Waves Tune - If memory servers it has a MIDI export function

You can also do it with Reaper if you're still looking for a quick/cheap solution.

I have generated midi from the plug in the past, haven't played around with the new version yet.

I use it to generate sheet music from improvised tracks.

Hmm...yes, WavesTune will. I've not ever used it, though.
