| Gear addict | 2009 Mac mini help
Hey all, I have a Mac Mini that has been used for web/media center stuff, but I plan on now using it more for music. I already maxed the Ram out. I was going to put Logic 9 on there from the app store. I have NI Komplete and a bunch of sample libraries already. Can anyone recommend a good external storage option to run those things as fast as possible? The mini has one FireWire port and several USB 2.0 ports. Would going the external SSD route be best or maybe an internal drive in an enclosure? Thanks! |

External firewire800 drive is all you need. As with any daw on any OS, the best setup is: OS, apps and plugins on boot drive. Sample libraries on secondary drive. Audio projects on third drive. Firewire drives can and were designed to be daisy-chained. |
