PT 10 New Install: Selected ASIO device could not be initialized

Brand new machine, new install, nothing else on the machine. Have 2 Delta 1010s installed. PT 10 tries to launch and stops with - selected ASIO device could not be initialized. Running Windows 7 HP 64bit. In the Windows control panel, shows SM Bus Controller and 3x USB Bus Controllers with no drivers installed. Tried uninstalling them altogether, and then rebooted machine, but there they are again with no drivers! WTF are these controllers anyway?? Are these the PCI cards for my Delta 1010s? Next I expect to see a message saying "go buy a Studer 24 track and forget this Protools nonsense!"

Can somebody help me out here??

Well now I got all those drivers installed and the Windows CP shows all drivers installed. Meanwhile, this definitely has something to do with the Delta 1010s. I've never used these units before FYI. When the error message comes up and I click ok, the next screen that opens is the Playback Engine for the Delta. Asks for H/W buffer size and other settings. I click OK and then the original error message comes up again!!

Synced 1010's are not officially supported by Maudio beyond a certain driver number...(not at my DAW, but i think its 5.57 something.

The later drivers disabled this functionality, plus it has been hard to get these cards to work at all, much less synced, under Windows 7.

I am also reasonably sure that Pro Tools will not recognize multiple delta devices. I would try to install just one delta 1010 and see what happens

Yep, you are - unfortunately for me - right. One Delta 1010 works, two do not.
