Virtual Instrument Plugin dilema

So I have the Avid VI pack... Structure, strike, expand, velvet and transfuser on an old Mac Laptop. I'm contemplating getting a new I7 with a solid state drive. I'm finding m ore people who record with me don't want to get into older midi keys and have to play.. quantize and rerecord. there's no time in the budget. I have a kawai 9000, a Kurzweil 2661 and a D-50 I would smoke to get the laptop and a good piano plug like Ivory and a controller like the Axiom. I've been playing keys for 25 years and it's scary going all software but after checking out Guitar Center,,, there's like 5 performance keys and 50 controllers. Times are changing. I'm not a big programmer. Though I love some of the stock 2661 sounds.. their dated.. hard to program.. still need scsi drives and was discontinued in 08. Any thoughts appreciated.

When I went virtual I used Redmatica's Autosampler to capture the custom sounds from my MIDI hardware.

AutoSampler

It now supports more formats now, making the transition easier.
